Giving

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

- Matthew 6:21

Stewardship IS Discipleship

At Valley Chapel, giving is more than supporting a church—it’s a spiritual act of trust, gratitude, and formation. Whether you’re giving for the first time or discerning a new level of faithfulness, this is a moment to ask:

“God, how would you have me steward what you’ve given me?”
As you consider your giving, we encourage you to...
Listen to God
(Matthew 7:7-8)
Pray, asking God for his guidance
in your decision.
Evaluate
(Matthew 25:14-30)
Consider all the resources
God has entrusted to your care.
Get Specific
(2 Cor 9:7-8)
Determine a specific amount or percentage of those resources to invest in the work of his kingdom.
Walk by Faith
(Malachi 3:10)
Choose your plan and watch for how God provides as you trust him.

Your Next Step

Giving is a personal and spiritual decision. At Valley Chapel, we see generosity not as a transaction, but as a journey of trust and transformation. Whether you're giving for the very first time or continuing a long habit of faithful stewardship, we invite you to take a moment to reflect:

What might God be inviting me into next?

The steps below can help you name where you are and consider how you want your giving to reflect your faith.
STEP 1 - Give for the First Time
“I’ve never given before, but I want to start.”

You may be sensing that giving is a way to draw closer to God and invest in what He’s doing through Valley Chapel.
Start small. Start now. Start with trust.

“Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” – Matthew 6:21

[Start Giving]
STEP 2 - Consistent Giving
“I give occasionally, but I want to be intentional.”

If generosity has been more spontaneous than structured, this is a step toward faithful rhythm. Scheduling a regular gift—weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly—helps generosity become part of your discipleship routine.

“On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money...” – 1 Corinthians 16:2

[Set Up Recurring Gift]
STEP 3 - Give Proportionally
“I want my giving to reflect more of what God provides.”

This step invites you to prayerfully choose a percentage of your income to give regularly. Even if it’s not yet 10%, aligning giving with income can deepen trust and dependence on God.

“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give...” – 2 Corinthians 9:7

[Choose a Percentage]
STEP 4 - Give a Tithe
“I’m ready to give 10% of my income in faith.”

Tithing is a bold declaration that God provides—and that you trust Him with it all. It’s not about earning favor; it’s about surrendering control and honoring God first.

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse... Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty. – Malachi 3:10

[Commit to the Tithe]

STEP 5 - Give Abundantly
“I joyfully give beyond 10% and want to grow in generosity.”

For some, the tithe is just the beginning. You may feel called to invest more deeply in Kingdom work—whether through special gifts, missions, or long-term planning. We thank God for your heart and invite you to keep listening for His leading.

“You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion.” – 2 Corinthians 9:11
